Google Account Settings

You may find after setting up your email alerts you keep getting notified DNS or password error , this is usually down to Google security settings , so here is quick guide on how to set up 

Google Account Settings for App and Email access through NVR/DVR and Ip Cameras

 

1.      Logon to your google account

2.      On the Left navigation panel, Select Security

3.      Scroll down the page until you see “Less Secure App Access”

4.      Click on “Turn on Access”, to enable

 

 

Once this has been complete, you may find you need to authorise any devices added , so please check your Gmail email account for any emails asking for permission/Authorisation


If you have 2 step verification enabled on your Google account , you will need to generate a Device Password. 

1. Logon to your Google account again , and select Security Tab
2.Click on "APP PASSWORDS" to generate a app password , Confirm account password 


3 Click in "Select App" and choose "Other" 

4 Generate a name for the Device IE DVR, NVR etc. and click the blue Generate button 


5 You will then be displayed a APP password, Use this password on the device (NVR/DVR/IP Camera) email settings 


This should then allow the Device to use the Gmail account for sending Email alerts
